SMAS Facelift
As facial skin ages, there is gradual loss of elasticity in the epidermal layer of the skin as well as in the SMAS (superficial musculo-aponeurotic system) which is the deeper layer of the face. It becomes evident as nasolabial folds begin to form. The sagging of the SMAS membrane contributes as much to facial aging as does the loss of elasticity in the superficial dermal layer. The classic or traditional facelift surgery addresses only this superficial skin unit while the SMAS facelift deals with the deeper layers – for better results. Dr. Cole performs the SMAS facelift using advanced techniques and great skill combined with artistic ability to masterfully achieve beautiful, natural looking results.

SMAS FACELIFT PROCEDURE:
SMAS is typically performed under general anesthesia or IV sedation. Dr. Cole works through precisely placed incisions to lift the SMAS layer upward into its more youthful position where it is secured. Surgery takes several hours depending upon your tailored treatment plan and other procedures you may be having done in concert with the SMAS Facelift. Patients commonly choose Chin/Cheek Implants or Injectable Fillers to achieve the most satisfying outcome.
