SCULPTRA® PROCEDURE:
Scultpra is injected below the skin in areas of fat loss to restore volume and contour. Results occur gradually over time as the formulation works to increase skin thickness. Most patients require from 3-6 treatments with varying amounts of solution to achieve desired results. Touch-up treatments are needed to maintain your desired look. Treatment results typically last an average of 2 years.

What is Sculptra® Aesthetic® Made From?
Sculptra® Aesthetic is a synthetic material known as poly-L-Lactic acid that is derived from natural components and is biocompatible. It has been used for decades in surgical sutures, soft tissue implants and other types of human implants.
Can Anyone Have Sculptra® Aesthetic Injections?
A good candidate for Sculptra® Aesthetic treatments should be concerned about facial fat loss as described above and have a desire to correct the lipoatrophy. You should be in good health otherwise and be capable of defining realistic expectations and goals.
How Does Sculptra® Aesthetic Actually Work?
Sculptra® Aesthetic increase the thickness of the skin in areas where it is injected.
How Soon Are Results From Sculptra® Aesthetic Injections Visible?
You will notice immediate fullness that is caused from the swelling associated with the injections. The real results are seen as the skin gradually thickens and facial contour is restored.
Are Sculptra® Aesthetic Injections Painful?
YES. There is some discomfort with any injection but Dr. Cole and his nurse are expert injectors who have many years experience in minimizing discomfort.
What Can I Expect After My Sculptra® Aesthetic Treatment?
Redness, swelling, bruising and some discomfort are normal and to be expected. This occurs only in the injection areas. This discomfort eases daily over a few days until gone. In the meantime, ice packs are very effective to reduce swelling and discomfort. Dr. Cole may have you massage the treated areas a few times daily also. You must avoid excessive sun and UV lamp exposure until all swelling is gone.
How Much Downtime Is There With Sculptra® Aesthetic Treatments?
Many patients return to work after a treatment – others choose not to. Jane Iredale mineral makeup is great to camouflage the swelling and bruising and also aids in the healing process. Ask us about this.
Will Insurance Pay For Sculptra® Aesthetic Treatments?
Cosmetic procedures are normally not covered but may be. You need to check with your insurance company about it. Financing is now available and you can ask about this in our business office.
