Nasolabial folds are the creases that run diagonally from the corners of your nose to the corners of your mouth.  They are a normal part of the aging process, and they are one of the earliest signs of facial aging.  Nasolabial folds are caused by the skin’s natural tendency to sag from the loss of collagen and elastin as our body’s production of these slows down with age.  Collagen and elastin make up the support structure for our skin and our both essential to prevent sagging as a result of aging. Nasolabial folds begin to form as aging skin decends downward and folds over the lower portion of the face. There are two options for correcting unwanted nasolabial folds: surgery or dermal fillers. Dr. Cole uses dermal fillers when appropriate and surgery when it is needed for effective, age-erasing correction of nasolabial folds. Dr. Cole is an expert in all anti-aging facial procedures and even though he can’t stop facial-aging, he can keep you from looking younger, longer.

BENEFITS OF CORRECTING NASOLABIAL FOLDS:

  • Dermal fillers are a popular non-surgical treatment for the correction of nasolabial folds
  • Dermal fillers augment folds in the skin, facial depressions and correct deep wrinkles
  • Dermal fillers require no pre-skin testing
  • Dermal fillers achieve immediate and long-lasting results lasting up to one year or more
  • Dermal fillers restore a more youthful look immediately with naturally based products

DERMAL FILLER INJECTION PROCEDURE:
Injections into the creases of the nasolabial folds take approximately 15-30 minutes using a very fine needle and precisely measured doses of the desired product.  For your comfort a local anesthetic is used before treatment begins. Some swelling and bruising is normal and to be expected but resolves on its own in a few days.  Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup provides wonderful and natural coverage in the meantime.

SURGICAL CORRECTION FOR NASOLABIAL FOLDS:
When surgery is the only option for your desired results, Dr. Cole will educate you as to your best options and then tailor a treatment plan that will achieve the desired results. This varies with each patient since one size does not fit all.
