ABOUT DYSPORT® INJECTABLE:
Dysport® is a protein extracted from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and was initially used for treatment of motor function disorders and various kinds of muscular spasms including Cerebral Palsy.  After further development it was proven effective for neuromuscular disorders and is licensed for that usage in over 60 countries. It was first developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1990’s to successfully treat a number of neurological and ophthalmic conditions. New Zealand eye specialists and neurologists have used it for many years to treat nervous tics and facial/neck muscle spasms with wonderful results.  Dysport has been in use in over 60 countries for nearly two decades for many medical and therapeutic uses – and for facial wrinkle treatments after additional development for that purpose.  It was approved in 2008 for use in the United States.

DYSPORT® PROCEDURE:
Dysport® is a simple injection. The product is injected directly into the facial muscles underlying the frown lines. It is virtually painless and requires no local anesthetic.  Treatment takes approximately 10 minutes.  Results are seen in 1-2 days as your muscles begin to relax without affecting your ability to blink, raise your eyebrows or look natural.

What Can Dysport® Do For You?

What Is Dysport®?

How Does Dysport® Differ From Botox® Cosmetic?
Like Botox, Dysport is an injectable form of botulinum toxin type A.  Small amounts, when injected, relax the muscles used to make facial espressions. Dysport® and Botox® are commonly referred to as “twins or first cousins” because of their similarities.

What Are The Side Effects From Dysport® Injections?
All injectables carry small risks – Dysport is no different.  Some patients may experience swelling, soreness and bruising at the injection site. This is normal and usually resolves in a few days. Some people experience a minor headache that may last for a few hours. In rare cases, ptosis (drooping of the eyelid) may occur but resolves in time and is an assumed risk of the procedure.  A skin rash or flu-like reaction has rarely occurred.  Dysport is not recommended for use during pregnancy, lactation or by people with neuromuscular disease.

Dysport is a prescription medication that is available only through licensed, medical care professionals.  Injectable treatments require specialized training, thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the facial anatomy and meticulous skill in order to achieve desirable outcomes.  Dr. Cole is expertly trained in the usage of all injectable treatments and has years of experience in achieving amazing and natural looking results.

Will Insurance Cover Dysport® Treatments?
Insurance does not cover cosmetic procedures unless they are proven to be medically necessary.

Dr. Cole is a quadruple board certified surgeon which means he has met the rigorous high standards and training requirements of four medical boards.  This involved several years more of specialized training and experience in all four areas – in addition to medical school, internships, residencies, fellowship training and vast experience.
