ABOUT FACIAL MUSCLES:
There are two types of muscles in the brow area:  the depressors that “pull down” the brows and muscles that “lift up” the brows. Botox works by paralyzing the depressor muscles leaving the “lift up” muscles unopposed.  By altering the balance between the two muscle groups – a lifting effect is achieved.  The surgeon must have an excellent knowledge of the facial muscle anatomy in order to achieve the desired results.  Botox browlift is intended for mild drooping, and the lifting effect is subtle.  If greater effects are desired surgery is the answer.

BOTOX® BROWLIFT PROCEDURE:
Once Dr. Cole has identified the correct muscles to be injected, the Botox is injected into the muscle using a fine needle in pre-measured doses. The injections are quick and discomfort is described as a small pinch. Swelling, bruising and tenderness is common and if it occurs at all will resolve itself in a few days. The effects are visible in a few days and typically last from 3-6 months or longer.
