This helps to better support the eyelid, lifts excess skin and removes wrinkles to achieve a more pleasing appearance. CANTHOPLASTY SURGERY:
Dr. Cole will employ the correct technique for each individuals needs since they vary based upon: 1) degree of sagging 2) prominence of the eyes 3) eye position in the orbital rim/cheek bone 4) individual preference 5) his recommendations.
The incision is placed in the outer corner of the eye towards the orbital bony rim – well hidden within the crease to minimize scar visibility. Using the correct technique tendons supporting the eyelids will be strengthened – depending upon the degree of reinforcement needed.
CANTHOPEXY surgery is a less invasive procedure used when less tendon tightening is needed. Techniques used vary from simple to complex – but usually the soft tissues just below the end of the tarsal plate will be tucked by sewing them to the rim of the orbital bone.
